Eames Plastic Side Chair DSW Ash Base
Vitra Eames plastic chair DSW is the renewed version of the legendary Fiberglass Chair designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1950. The DSW version has base reinforced with wood and metal wires, not stackable. DSW = Dining Height Side Chair Wood Base. All models are available with seat cushion screwed to the seat shell or full padding. The fully padded version is made with polyurethane foam padding covered in fabric and connected to the body by means of a reinforced edge. Different colors of the shells and padding and various bases allow a myriad of possible combinations.
After numerous studies on the material to be used, polypropylene has achieved the initial goal of Charles and Ray Eames to create a comfortable seat that embraces human forms and allows industrial production in series and accessible to all. The current version in propylene guarantees additional comfort to the organic and enveloping shape of the body. Materials
Seat shell: dyed-through polypropylene. All models are available with a seat cushion (screwed to the seat shell) or full upholstery. The fully upholstered version has moulded polyurethane foam padding covered in fabric, attached to the shell with a welted edge. Different shell and upholstery colours and various bases provide a multitude of possible combinations.
Options: the Eames Plastic Chair is available as a visitor chair, dining chair, rocking chair, swivel chair or in stacking versions and with ganging brackets for row seating. Beam-mounted shells are suited for use in waiting areas.

Note: special additives retard the fading of colours due to UV radiation. However, if the chair is exposed to sunlight for prolonged periods, the colour may change over time. We recommend limited exposure to sunlight.
